How to Not Lose Faith in Your Goals

laptop, green headphones, coffee and a letter board with to do list saying own today

As each month passes, it’s easy to become discouraged if you have not achieved a goal or fulfilled a dream. Never give up on your dreams or goals especially when you feel the passion for it. If you’re struggling with your faith, let’s talk about how to not lose faith in your goals.

I believe God uses dreams or our imagination to give us a positive vision that He desires to see manifested. It’s like a phenomenal download of an expansive idea that we know we can achieve.

We often come from that experience positively infused with a new idea, goal or passion.

Immediately, we feel a strong belief that this is our calling or our purposeful path. We know it’s for us and we believe it can be done.

If You’re Struggling with Faith in Your Goals:

1. Keep Quiet.

Out of the gate, you’ll likely stand strong in prayer, apply faith, and go forward with action on that goal with the belief that you will see it come to pass. You excitedly tell other people about your new dream, vision or goal.

Then, they start asking you big questions like:

  • How will you finish or finance this?
  • Didn’t someone already make that product?
  • Aren’t you too old for that?
  • Are you qualified?

Questions like those are why it is important to keep quiet about your goals.

You are left standing in your feelings, shook, and operating in only 40% strength of your original belief. In your mind, their doubtful questions are constantly replaying as you pursue your goals. You start to question your ability, if God really placed this goal on your heart and if you should even keep going after it.

2. Do Not Allow Doubt to Enter.

When you start to question your goals, then that’s a sign you are now living in doubt.

This seed of doubt is the primary goal of the enemy. Our mindset and our belief are crucial in manifesting our goals. Don’t get hung up on lies like why it won’t work, don’t have the right look, no funding, etc.

You’ve already lost before you start with that type of thinking. Just remember that doubt, confusion, and distractions are from the enemy. The objective is to discourage you.

I find that the enemy attempts to attack when we have had or are nearing a breakthrough. Don’t allow doubts or distractions to detour you from your goals.

You’ve got to refocus to get hold of your faith, and the best way to do that is through prayer.

3. Have Faith in God.

In Mark 11:22-24, there is something interesting and serves as a reminder of WHO we should focus on. It is written:

“And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

The key to making something come to pass is not your credentials, appearance, finances or approval from others. It’s FIRST having FAITH in GOD; not in external things.

In that same scripture, I gathered that you are to speak about what you want to happen in prayer.

Do not doubt it in your heart and simply believe what you said will come to pass. It’s already done for you.

Jesus tells us point blank at the very end that we have to believe that we have RECEIVED whatever we have asked for in prayer AND it will be yours. Your belief is everything!

4. Pause and Pray.

We always say ‘Won’t He Do it?!” when we hear a testimony or someone delivering a praise report. And, that’s what we should also be saying throughout pursuing our dreams.

A confident expression in our belief in HIM and HIS abilities to do it.

Whenever you find doubt trying to enter, simply pause and pray. You can even have a quick praise break about the goodness of God.

Thank God for your victory and continue to have confidence that He is always able!

I hope this helps you to not lose faith in your goals and to regain focus. Stay blessed!
